Hi, lovely people! I have around 600+ hours on BG3, so yes, I am definitely enjoying it a lot. However, I’m trying to think of what to play next. A few people have recommended Cyberpunk to me, so I did get that, and it runs well. Nooot sure how I like it just yet. Are there any other, like, RPG games, that have character customization, that also run well on the deck?

Thank you in advance! Apologies if this isn’t the right sub to post this on, I haven’t been on Reddit in a hot minute.

Is BG3 so enjoyable on the deck? I am afraid to buy it, this and Cyberpunk because I have a ps5 too and could potentially remote play it

I sometimes play BG3 on my steam deck via remote play (chiaki), and it works like a charm. In terms of streaming quality, and of course also in terms of FPS. I mostly play on the big TV but it’s convenient to be on the SD at times. You’ll miss out on mods, that is the only downside imo.

I think it’s pretty good, but with some caveats.

There’s some texture pop-in which is a bit annoying, and performance still goes down in act 3. But the game generally performs well most of the time with a little tinkering in the settings, especially now that they’ve added FSR 2.0. It’s much better than it used to be.

However, it has the problem a lot of games have on the Deck: the interface and entire look of the game is made for much larger screens, so some things are a bit difficult to read/spot. Not nearly to the point of unplayability, but definitely not as optimal as playing on a big screen.

It’s a great game, so I’d recommend getting it even if you can only play on the Deck, and especially if you use your deck a lot (maybe you travel for work or something), but I do think the base experience on PS5 is going to be better than on the Deck. Then again, you can say that for almost anything because the PS5 is much more powerful.

Thanks! This sums up my thoughts too. I don’t have a powerful PC, so definitely using chiaki to play is the way to go!

It’s decently performant after patches, but if you expect 30FPS stable everywhere, I still don’t think it can quite achieve that. Personally, I played at 24FPS@48Hz in the first act and 20FPS@40Hz in act 2 and act 3. It’s pretty much the opposite of a fast-paced game and I preferred a mostly locked framerate to constant dips in later areas.
