2005 Honda Accord EX V6. Went to replace my brake pads, driver side went fine. Went to passenger side, got the new pads on, went to compress the caliper to put back on…. But it just turned and didn’t go back in.
I have the proper tool, and know to turn it clockwise as I already did the driver side. Not sure what to do now, replacing a caliper a little beyond my skill level.
Get it towed with the caliper not connected over the pads? Sounds like a recipe for a brake line to break. Not sure whether to keep trying to turn it, spray the boot with brake cleaner, etc…

Why don’t you open the bleeder and see if it retracts?
