97 Grand Caravan 3.3

Another fun time in diagnosing problems.

Basically it throws no codes. So I have nothing to really go off of. I’ve ordered a Throttle Sensor because I have a feeling. The feeling has to do with getting a MAP sensor from RockAuto and that didn’t fix the other issue I had. But the AutoZone one did. The Throttle sensor is also from RockAuto.

Issue:

Low voltage.

Here’s what I’ve noticed. When turning key to AC the voltage read out will be between 12.4 - .5 which means when I start it the voltage will be at 13.4 - 6.

When it’s around that it dies when the gas pedal isn’t pushed.

When it sits over night the voltage with key on AC will be 12.2 sometimes .3 and when I start it it’ll be 13.9 - 14. During this drive it’s entirely fine. Unless I’m running the air or any kind of accessory such as radio and things for a few minutes or so.

After I turn it off and start it up again. It can sit for any length of time just about and the voltage goes to the lower ones mentioned. It’ll stall out in those ranges unless gas is applied. Have to sit at lights in neutral and apply gas to 1k RPM so it stays on.

It has a rough idle when starting for a few minutes then smooths out. At times then it’ll have a super slow acceleration no matter if the pedal is all the way to the floor. Until it catches and then accelerates with no hesitation or delay like normal.

Fuel pressure is fine. But unsure if fuel pump would effect the voltage. I have a feeling about the TPS though. So we’ll see.

Just curious what possible thoughts, advice, and recommendations might be.

Replaced:

Coil pack, spark plugs, spark wires, cam sensor, crank sensor, MAP, TPS, and Alternator.

    I had a 96 dakota and the battery was getting weak, wouldn’t idle, acted up when I turned on the AC but it would start no problem. Replaced the battery and everything worked. Test or reolace the battery?

      Forgot to mention that. Battery tested fine as well. It tested fine about a month or so ago when I got it shared when I thought it was the issue. Then about a week or so tested the alternator while in the car and both bat and alt came out fine. A few days ago tested the battery and it tested fine.

      Which is why maybe voltage regulator or fuse. I really have no idea. It’s been quite the adventure with this thing so far.
