So I live CO and ski quite a bit. I already have snow tires on my car to make it to and from the mountains. the problem is my car turns into the little Corolla that could because especially at altitude, it turns into a potato and I have little power(not like there was much to begin with)
An upgraded air filter won’t do anything in regards to more power. Even a properly routed cold air intake will see negligible power gains. The best you can do is give it a proper tune up with spark plugs/wires, an oil change, and coolant flush. This ensures your engine is as tip top as it can be.
You are unlikely to see any noticeable difference in power with a drop in filter replacement, that is assuming that your current filter isn’t super clogged up. The stock intakes and filter are fairly efficient. I have a 91 F-150 with the 300 six cylinder so I know the pain of being super slow.
If it’s clogged and nasty sure. Otherwise likely not. Try using LOWER octane gas if you can.
