The van had been driving fine and suddenly going up a hill began to shutter. I was only a few miles from home so I turned around and went back. It shuttered everytime I gave it gas. More so when I was going up a hill or coming out of a stop. Coolant level is all the way full and transmission fluid is a tad high and has streaks of black but otherwise red.

I was thinking torque converter but maybe the coolant started leaking into the transmission? It looks like the transmission fluid is burning but like it just hasn’t had time to mix in yet.

Maybe there is an issue with the transmission fluid heat exchanger instead? Would that cause the shutter?

Check your engine mounts, the one on the front tears easily as does the one on the rear. The one on the passenger side is filled with a fluid and leaks are common.
