I have a 2003 Toyota Avalon xls it’s super nice and all but the repairs are so tiring and keeps me from making my basic bills on time . I’m coming out of a car crash with settlement and I’m thinking about trying to sell the Avalon and maybe getting something more reliable should I or just drop 2k on it and keep driving.tips and advice please ?any advice on how much repairs you should do for used car too?
First you have to differentiate between maintenance and repairs. Belts, brakes, spark plugs, suspension parts, steering parts, bearings are all predicable maintenance and you should plan for those. Repairs are things that aren’t in your maintenance guide that are unexpected. Whether to keep an older vehicle depends on the body and frame condtion and how well it has been maitained.
