First off appreciate anyone taking the time to read this!

My problem:

My Alternator recently went out & i won’t have the money to fix it for a few weeks, it is currently around 20-30 degrees where i live & leave for work around 5 AM.

It’s a 15-20 minute walk there in the freezing cold, or a 5 minute drive.

If i keep the battery fully charged by keeping it on a charger when not in use, do you think i could make the 10 minute total drive until i can get it fixed? i would need to start it twice in total then 5 minutes there then 5 minutes back.

What’s everyone’s thoughts? sound doable? i have heard cars can run hours on just a fully charged battery lol

Thats putting a lot of faith on the battery being fully capable, but if your alternator failed, the battery has probably been stredded for a while, and I’m guessing, it isnt new either. If you cant afford to fix the alternator, then you cant afford the tow truck either. wear your layers, and your good socks, and move swiftly, but dont allow yourself to sweat, better to be slightly cold than overheated. Find a friend who can help you with a ride.
