I’ve been having some minor issues with my car taking a second to turn on when I try it so I was planning on getting it checked out. This morning, I drove to work and after parking, I turned my car off, waited a minute, and then tried to turn it on. It made rapid clicking noises and I had my dashboard lights and radio turn on. After doing some googling, it seems like it might be the battery, but I’m not great with cars so I wanted to get a second opinion. My plan is to hopefully get a jump and then take the battery to Autozone to get it checked.
My car is a 2018 Kia Forte. I haven’t changed the battery, which is another reason for me to believe it might be the battery.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
First, remove and clean the battery terminals and posts. Rapid clicking can be a sign of a bad connection. Then get the battery tested at any auto parts store. Average battery life is 3-4 years, so you you’re probably due
Very likely a dead battery. Buy a cheap voltmeter and test it, its quite easy: How to test battery.
