hi I have a hp pavilion x360 14-cd0xx and it has a 16gb intel optane memory in the m.2 slot so can I replace it with a ssd? and what generation should my ssd be like gen 3 or gen 4?

Should be able to. While I’m not ruling out the existence of one, I haven’t heard of a laptop designed that the m.2 slot was dedicated for Optane only in BIOS and couldn’t do a normal SSD.
You’d want Gen3. Anything that came with Optane should have been prior to Gen4’s release.
