Got an egr fault on my 1.9 tdi golf , now there’s an engine check light on . Shop says they would change it for 250 which seems steep so I want to try doing it myself. I’ve never worked on anything in the engine bay , should I pay for a change to not risk messing something up? Would I also need to invest a lot in tools?
