Does anyone have experience with having the steam deck with a medium thick protective cover (i have the spigen rugged armor) in the original case?

It can still be closed without force but I have the feeling it sits really tight in there and that there is some pressure on the thumbsticks. Do you reckon this will have a negative impact after prolonged time?

Now this was a great tip. They stay popped out, even when pressing on top of the case with a bit of force!

As for the bumpers, I wouldn’t worry, they cant really be pressed with vertical force from below and I dont think the force could be enough to damage the quite sturdy plastic/spring mechanics if its not enough to press in the very easy to press in stick-raise we tried.

So I’d say no reason to buy another case!

Well, the Spigen armor carry case is neat - but the top is mesh so you should get a couple of thumbstick locker thingies.

I think LTT nailed the design for silicone ones, try and see if they are not expensive in your area, or get some knockoffs (there are few designs in silicone, all works and grab on almost all kind of thumbsticks, be it controllers or steam deck).
