Would it be wise to get a catalytic converter shield for a 2018 Corolla SE? Or should I have insurance cover that? I’m sure at minimum I should paint it or etch something into it as well for identification purposes

The converter is in the exhaust manifold attached to the engine…no one is going to saw it off. Don’t waste your money
They will still steal the secondary cat though.
Thieves don’t care if the VIN is etched, and neither do the shops that are buying them illegally anyway.
