Hello. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G but I have a promotion where I can get $500 off on a Samsung Galaxy S23+.

Only thing is when comparing the specs it feels like a downgrade? The battery is less and so is the camera, even the ram! Should I just stick with my phone or would I notice an improvement on the new one? Thanks!

Edit: Or the Ultra version of 23

I was forced to “upgrade” when the cpu in my Note 8 quit. The only thing I like better is the camera. There are times I have full strength 5g & it won’t load anything. Plus, I’ve been dealing with customer service for another issue for almost a week & they’re about as useless as 5g

I went ahead and did it. But I generally go every other generation, and try to get a good trade on mine. But that’s just me.

The 23U is better than the 21U by a decent amount and is one of the best phones I’ve ever used and I’m not exactly a Samsung fan. But with the 24U only 2 months away and this AI push I’d wait for that.

I actually haven’t been following it that close but I believe there’s going to be a lot of AI type features this year for the phones from what I remember hearing. You’d obviously have to check for yourself and see if that might be worth waiting for. Supposed to come out in 2 months or so.

Don’t kid yourself, the S23+ is way better in performance. The 8 Gen 2 is sooooo much stronger than the 888 or exynos in s21 ultra.

I have s21 ultra right now and I’m gonna buy the S23 soon this month

On paper that’s true, but how much does that actually translate to your day to day though, especially if OP has a snapdragon variant of the s21 ultra? I upgraded from a phone using a SD865 to one with a 8 gen 2. While it’s noticeably faster, I wouldn’t call the difference significant, and those chips are 4 generations apart. I believe you’re vastly exaggerating how big of a performance difference you’ll notice between modern smartphones that are a generation or 2 apart considering the fact that the average user is primarily using applications that don’t use more than a couple of cores.

I’m sure the battery is better in S23+ than your S21 ultra. But don’t do it if you don’t need it.

If you are on an Exynos region get the S23 and hold it as much as you can. Who knows when we ll ever have a true flagship chip again.

S23+ is a better phone with longer battery duration and much faster overall. I have it. Battery is more than S21 Ultra for sure, because of the chipset. Specs aint everything. Wait out 24 Series and judge for yourself. The 23+ is a great phone regardless.

You should upgrade only if the S21U does not fit your needs anymore. I am using one right now and don’t see why it would be the case.

Well the s24 series it’s just around the corner but the trade deals for the s23 weren’t any good. I was waiting also for the s24 but decided to pull the trigger since I manage to get a good deal for the s23 ultra

Like others are saying the S24 is literally around the corner. With a new design plus flat screen. There have also been rumors or SD card making a return.

If your 21 is still doing right by you there’s no need to upgrade.
