I looked up a tutorial to change the resolution but when I went into the display settings there’s not an option is there any way to fix it or alternative way?

Resolution of a specific game ? Or when docked. Once docked the setting for external resolution pops up.
If you want to change the resolution of a specific game, before starting the game and pressing play go the the options all the way to the right. You can set resolution there.
