Hey there.

So yeah, christmas is coming and would like to surprise my mother with a new phone on a budget.

basically the only thing she uses her phone for is just calling, texting, yt and looking at recipes/articles, so not recourse heavy at all, but would like to give her something that is not as slow as her current A20e. It basically has an input lag already, even though I recently did factory reset on it.

So in a nutshell, a decent battery life with not much in hardware, but will last for another 3-5 years for her. And obviously would be nice if it didn’t slow down after a year or 2. Used phones are fine as well, I’ve bought multiple phones used already, so I know what to look for and such in those cases to not get scammed. We live in the EU.

I had the same problem 3 times, and all of the time i went with an A34 or A54 depending on each time’s budget and discounts. A54 is a beast, check the prices where you live and if it’s out of budget, check the A34. I don’t advise you on getting a chinese brand as support from Samsung is the best now and the software is the most optimized

Keep seeing Pixel 7s in my area around 2-300$ CAD. I imagine this would be a relatively good option for a user who is looking for the best bang for your buck.

Very valid point. You also posted in a Samsung thread, so that makes complete sense. Unfortunately, im notn100% sure what i would recommend for that, i switched back from IOS to an s23u and love it, I have heard bad things about s22s but maybe the s21 lineup.
