I’m out of town for awhile, my gf went to her families mechanic and was quoted $1400 for the install of all motor mounts and transmission mounts for her 1.8 le 2010 Corolla. Seems like a lot to me. Curious if this is correct. Should I buy her the parts and have them install? Would love any feedback.

It does seem high. There should be 3 mounts, and they are easily accessible. One from the top, 2 from the bottom. Get another quote.

That’s about right price wise for all the mounts. Most shops won’t install customer parts and the ones that will, often upcharge the labor to compensate for the lost profit on parts. It’s a business. They make their living on labor and parts markup, just like every other retail service business

My advice, ask a few shops for prices.

If you buy the parts, the warranty is on you. If you give them the wrong parts or dont see the 1 mount is bent, it can become drama and take extra time to get the car back. At least in my experience.

We stopped accepting customers supplied parts because of that stuff.
