Premier League has more than 8 teams with higher NET spend than Real Madrid in the last 10 years and yet their teams need 2-3 rebuilds every few years…

Why don’t they buy the best upcoming young talents as Madrid does:

  • Vinicius (23)
  • Bellingham (20)
  • Rodrygo (23)
  • Endrick (17) - 2024
  • Guler (18)
  • Valverde (25)
  • Tchouameni (23)
  • Camavinga (20)
  • Militao (25)
  • Davies (23) - 2024?

All of these players are bought when they were U-23 and only 1 (Jude) of them costed 100M+ while other 80M (Tchouameni).

What stops the other richer PL clubs to follow the same policy and buy the Cherki, Redondo, Wirtz, Santiago, and other young gems who are actually quality instead of wasting their money on overpriced deals (Mount, Casemiro, Havertz, Caicedo, Cucurella, Sterling, Mudryk, Antony, Nunez, etc) leading them to rebuild after rebuild for years…

I feel that all of Liverpool/United/Chelsea/Spurs/Arsenal goes for higher floor but lower ceiling in terms of their quality and potential while Madrid has a priority for highest ceiling ones…

Its like the saying, ‘Shoot for the moon and you will land alongside stars’. Its more profitable and sustainable in long term if you buy absolute worldbeater wonderkid than just a ‘good’ and ‘stable’ buys like McAllister, Gakpo, Mount, and others.

It simply limits your capability and thats a disaster especially when you are competing against Madrid, Bayern, City likes in domestic and continental competitions who are very much up for lining up dynasty level squads.

There are many reasons besides money why many prem teams cannot replicate this, I will state some of them.

As a top 3 team in history madrids reputation is basically unmatched, players REALLY want to come to madrid as it is also perceived as stable (much less drama [recently] than I see from other top clubs). So whenever multiple clubs are interested in a top talent (basically always) they are likely to choose Real.

Buulding on from this you mention clubs wasting money on low ceiling high floor players (describing enzo fernandes as one is crazy tho) is that madrid can circumvent this as I believe they are the best club at free signings, consistently signing great squad players/ role fillers even the occasional world class players all at no cost to the transfer budget allowing them to focus more on youngsters.

Lastly prem clubs do do this, just not as often or as well as Madrid. Not every “wunderkind” makes it, in fact plenty “only” make it to a squad player level and thats fine even if they aren’t to the level of your team they can be sold to someone who fits well (hopefully at a profit) but that doesnt mean they havent spent on high potential youth, maybe that instead they just didnt develop as hoped. Adding on Real madrid also implement a volume startegy in youth transfers do a shit tonne and of course your more likely to succeed in creating world beaters.
