Hi all. Might be a stupid question, but some clarity would be great. I’ve been driving 4 weeks, and my CEL came on yesterday. My brother who is a mechanic looked at it and the code PO171 appeared. Looks like a faulty O2 sensor. I work next to a fault and repair place and a guy looked at it for me. He suggested the same. But he says it’s no problem and I’m okay to continue driving on it and to change the O2 filter when I can/afford to. Another said he drove with his O2 filter faulty for two years and just cleared the CEL when coming to MOT. Is this something I should be worried about or can I keep driving? It’s a 2007 Polo S

    2 or 3 people advised you it’s OK to drive a while longer. Why will you believe an opinion from an internet stranger?
