I dont get this, why is nearly every single leading scorer from the new era?

Why is it never like „yeah he played in the 70s and is leading scorer off xyz“

You can check that, i am not talking bs, its hard to find a leading scorer that was in his prime between 1970-90

Why?

As well as the increased games, there’s a lot more countries now playing international football so European players in particular get to play San Marino, Gibraltar, Liechtenstein more regularly.

If players like Gerd Muller and Bobby Charlton got penalties against San Marino like Klose and Kane got to they’d have more goals.

It’s definitely to do with how regularly games are played against weaker teams, and absolutely nothing to do with how often games are played.

Klinsmann played 108 games for Germany. That’s extremely comparable to today

Kane has played almost 20 fewer games than Charlton for England. I’m not sure where you’ve got the idea that there are significantly more international games.
