Look what happens every time Martinelli gets the ball. We have a huge hole at the left 8 position. Nobody makes an in behind run, no overlap. Jesus doesn’t drag defenders with him. Our wingers always are in these dead end positions. No choice but to pass back. It’s like this every game low block or not. Arteta pleaseeee this needs a fix
It’s not so much the hole, like sometimes Zinny is there where the left 8 could be, other times Jesus drops closer to provide a passing option, it’s more the fact that we pass the ball so slowly once we get into these areas AND that we also don’t pass enough into space, we rather turn around, slow things down, let everyone reset and then recycle possession. Everything is very methodical and ponderous seemingly at the expense of not wanting to get caught in transition.
