Hey all.

I am looking at purchasing a new car - mainly looking to switch over to EV’s.

I live in the LA area and commute 40 miles to work in traffic. I spend about 20k miles in the car per year on average.

Because of this, does it make sense for me to purchase a used EV that is in fairly good condition vs a brand new one? I will be working it into the ground as a work horse.

Sounds like us, I drive 50 miles each way to Seattle and back and we put about 23k miles on ours since we bought it in January. It had 12k on it we we bought and there are even better good deals now on them. We still have the full 10 year 100k mile warranty on the battery, modules and drive system and in California I think you get even a longer warranty.

Used cars are usually a better financial decision. A 2-3yr used car in great condition is always a good deal over new one. Though you may want to account for tax credits and free charging as well that some new cars come with.
