Flying into the town where it’s listed by a dealer, then driving back 7.5 hours if i end up purchasing….when I purchase.

Any recommendations for what to look for beyond the obvious?

This will be my first bmw purchase, have done a ton of research and getting exactly what we want. M sport package Dynamic handling package Parking assistant pro Driving Assistance Plus package Luxury seating package Premium package

Only thing i noticed is it doesn’t have the colored brake calipers which i believe means it doesn’t have the upgraded brakes.

Has 22k miles and under warranty until end of 2024.

Thanks in advance for any tips prior to purchase or tips post purchase like how to approach taking it to bmw while still under warranty.

M Sport brakes are optioned as far as I know for non-M vehicles. You can go with either M Sport (blue), or M Performance (red), and they can be fitted retroactively so discuss that with the dealership before you leave and they be able to get installed for you for the trip home. Congrats on your purchase and enjoy that trip home, you’ll be in for some fun.

Update - finalized the deal! The drive is incredible, the technology seems so much more solid than the 23 Tesla model Y I’m coming from. It’s clear that BMW has been at this for a long time. The bmw dealership was pretty aggressive with financing and additional warranty, but what’s new?

Some 540i come with M sport brakes some do not, if they are not colored I believe the car you’re looking at was not optioned with them.

Done very similar recently. Yeah at that age, you want to make sure the spec is what you want. I think the car will normally be fairly solid if it is approved used and has warranty
