I have a simple question that I cannot figure out. If it is cold outside, I have my A/C off and set the fan temperature to low why do I still get warm air (~75ish) from the vent?
I figured by setting the fan temp to the minimum no heat from the heater core will be tapped into and air should come directly from outside and be cold a frig.
What am I missing here?
Thanks in advance for not being an asshat.
oh yeah, drive a 2015 2.5L Subaru Outback.
It’s usually pulling air from right around where the hood and windshield meet. This air is going to be a bit warmer than outside air due to heat coming from the engine compartment. It will likely be warmer if you’re not moving at freeway speed.
If it’s truly cold out, and you’re moving at a decent speed, you’ll likely get colder air more in line with the outside air temp.
Also, make sure the vents aren’t clogged with leaves/other debris as that could impact the ability to get fresh air in.
Awesome thanks
