I am a part of a college club which builds EVs, we have a 3kw bldc motor which says 48V/60V and with a rated torque of 9.6Nm. And peak can go upto 40Nm. So My car is around 250Kgs and I have a 60V Li-ion battery and a motor controller that the vendor gave with the motor. Initially it was good but this one time during driving the brakes got jammed and the controller started overheating and ever since the performance has decreased significantly and the controller heats up a lot. I was planning on buying a kelly programmable motor controller. I need some help and guidance.
Maybe think go-kart rather than car with that motor.
But to answer the question. So long as that motor has hall sensors, then it’ll be fine.
Well the competition we’re attending has a 3kw power limit.
