Not explicitly. But everyone and their mother are praising OLED like a deity. So the effect on the user is similar - FOMO.

Nobody is saying that. Where do you get this weird info?

Oled has better battery life and marginal (1-5%) better fps along with a new screen.

And dozens of other improvements to tell the entire truth. Still doesn‘t make the LCD bad!

I think the LCD Display is still good. Not the best but usable. It does the job.

I also have an LCD Display and i am satisfied with it. It’s just not “good” if you compare it with other Devices like Rog Ally, Lenovo Legion Go and especially the Steam Deck Oled.

But these Devices also comes with a higer price.

It’s not as good as OLED, but it’s stil good enough. What do you want to hear? Sold the old one and buy an OLED? It’s up to you.

I don’t know, the LCD on my Steam Deck looks great to me. Much better than my OG Switch’s screen.

LCD screen was much better than I expected when I got my steam deck back in the day.

It’s fine. The difference in screen is pretty big from the LCD to OLED, however it’s still completely serviceable. I mean, 1 month ago all we had was the LCD and we were all happily using it. It’s not obsolete just because a better model is available, it’s still the same device you bought a year ago.

LCD is fine, I used it for 18 months. But if you have the means and use your SD a lot then the improved screen + all other benefits of the redesign are totally worth it.

The LCD screen is pretty good actually. Valve has done a ton of work to make it better than what it launched as, and honestly, comparing to my OLED, the OLED is not much of an upgrade. It has more contrast and true blacks, obviously, but color reproduction is not all that much better than the LCD.

However, there’s way more to the OLED model than just the screen. The OLED model in general is objectively better in virtually every way. 90Hz is huge. The battery life difference is very significant.

The LCD is not bad, and honestly, if you already have one, you’re just fine sticking with it, unless there’s something like battery life or something that’s really bothering you. If you were just buying today, though, the OLED is hands down the better choice.

As owner of LCD and OLED deck, OLED is way better. Less ghosting, better colours, better brightness, no backlight bleed, higher refresh rate. Overall a better device.

If you adjust the temperature and color it’s not much of a difference I have both. Blacks are darker the battery lasts longer and the cooling is better. Top 3 things which don’t really matter unless you only use the deck. Then why not get the best.

The battery life and efficiency upgrades were enough to convince me to upgrade to the OLED. I can say so far I have not been disappointed. I’ve gone from historically always having to be close to a charger to never being near one during my nightly gaming sessions. It’s also made grabbing it and throwing it in my work bag that much easier because I don’t feel nearly as much battery anxiety. The screens aiight, too, I guess.

It’s a very mediocre LCD panel. It gets the job done, sure, but if you care about image quality… it’s very disappointing.
