I would not ever buy a google phone. Their after sales service is non existent. When I bought my pixel 7 it was damaged out of the box. They just said I broke it. Now every opportunity I get to bag their product, I take it.

Idk man, I bought a Google Pixel 4a like 3 years ago and it’s still going strong. Sounds like your mileage may have varied.

Me to, but I’m replacing it with a Pixel 8 since they stop supporting the 4A.

4A is the best phone I’ve ever had. Started with Iphones, moved to Samsungs, then to Pixel and I’ll never go back.

you completely missed the point of that post. They weren’t complaining about the longevity of their device because it literally came out of the box broken - they are describing a customer support issue.

Not exactly something you have to worry about since there’s no warranty left but definitely something to keep in mind for the future.

My brother has a pixel 7 pro and the thing overheats like crazy. Surfing the internet and it’s like it’s been in the oven for an hour or something. Terrible battery life too. What the hell google?

I needed to carry around a lighter to turn on my nexus 6p. You literally had to heat up the back cover for it to turn on.

Man ymmv but my current Pixel 7 was a warranty replacement for the first one I got - The camera glass spontaneously shattered while the phone was sitting on my desk. They had a replacement out to me the next day, and then I sent mine back after transferring everything. Very smooth experience.

My screen completely died on my pixel 7 pro. Took it, thinking they’d replace. Put in a ticket, told me to go to an authorized Google repair place. They had my phone fixed and back to me in just a few hours. I just some photos from a backup, but small price to pay. None of this cost me a penny.

I’ve had great luck with their products and service, so I guess ymmv

I did the repair ticket for mic issues on partners phone when making calls and recording video and got told to take to an authorised repair place too. Repair place couldn’t replicate, got told to pay a service fee.

Still had issues, support told me to ship in the phone and get a replacement, which also had the same mic issue…

Hours wasted on phone, emails and travelling/waiting at service centre. Never Pixel again.

Diff guy but probably just the standard 1 year warranty. No extended ones for that model right now other than the camera housing but that’s kind of handled on its own.

I work at uBreakIFix and we get lots of warranty stuff in. We’re contracted with google so we do those kinds of things for them. As long as the tech (me in these cases) doesn’t find water or impact damage it would get fixed.

Crazy enough though is that 7 Pro screens ONLY have been out of stock for almost 2 months now because almost every single one sent to our region (OH, MI, AK) were defective parts. The final count for last month was 84%. Not a joke lol we’re talking thousands of screens.

I’ve had multiple Google phones and they have all been fantastic. The only issue was my 6 pro arrived with a Broken volume rocker. I got it replaced next day. Not sure what you did wrong but they didn’t even ask me a question about it

When it comes to the screen they just don’t repair them under warranty as a rule. They said as much.
