Hello, I have a 09 CTS V2 that I bought not too long ago. Today while “driving it a bit hard” white smoke starts pouring out of the hood I pull to the side and open the hood, there is orange coolant spilled all over different areas.

At this point there was no overheating, and my temperature gauge was fine where it usually is. From here I decide to drive it more and the smoking goes away temperature was fine.

About an hour later I go to a drive thru and get food and smok starts pouring out with my temperature gauge now rising. I get my food and the temperature gauge goes down to regular temperature, I get home and turned the car off

About 30 minutes later I decide I was going to take it to my mechanic today, and decided to drive there as I assumed I just had to let it cool down. About halfway there, traffic starts and my car is smoking again and sound now like a diesel truck with the temperature gauge all the way up. The car would announce engine hot, power reduced . During the rest of the drive the temperature gauge would randomly drop down to 0 and then rise again after a minute. Finally as I left it there we noticed that a hose was being rubbed on by a pulley belt and that the hose may have been ripped by the pulley belt.

I guess what I wanna know is what are issues that could be happening and how much could these issues cost.

Car has cam, injectors, zl1 lid, air raid intake, heat exchanger, smaller pulley full Exhaust.

First, never ever drive a vehicle that is spewing any fluid. The fact that you didn’t get an overheating warning at first means you probably saved it from worse damage. What you described after seems very serious.

If you are extremely lucky and the overheating didn’t damage the internals, you could be out a few hundred in parts, fluids, and labor. It seems as though you probably damaged the engine. A replacement engine for a V2 would probably run between $10k to $20k depending on if used or new and this would not include labor.
