Genuine question: why wouldn’t the watch be legal?

Oh! It’s also especially bad to wear a smartwatch as it could be a means of communication between coaches/players. I recently learned from Josh Dobbs joining the Vikings right before their next game that the coaches headset to the in-helmet mic gets cut off with like 15-ish seconds left on the play clock

As long as it is the Nike version it is allowed. 😂 Nike sponsors the uniforms.

Bookies telling them take a dive. Most sports here, it’s no coms from the time you hit the dressing room.

As someone already stated, the physical safety of having a hard object on your wrist could be dangerous. Another reason is that there are rules and laws set around communication between players and coaches on the field and off, and what can and can’t be done with regards to gathering information about the other team and outside perspectives. AW could potentially breach these I guess.

College has strict rules with who can get a headset and talk to players/coaches. You can read texts on the field.

Also, someone can text him information about the other team’s plays.

Nope this is false, you can turn it off or even set it to on during workouts.

Open the Apple Watch App, go to Emergency SOS, and then you can toggle it from there.

You can turn it off though, I’ve got mine set so fall detection is on while doing a workout.

I thought fall detection was only on by default if the wearer is over a certain age like 65.

I think there are two types of detection. Fall detection and risk of falling alerts. I have the fall detection only turned on while in a workout. I have the 2nd gen SE. You can also turn it off completely.

Does not look like an Apple Watch to me - the crown appears to be centered on the side, which is not something Apple ever did.

It’s an ultra. You’re seeing the large protrusion on the side that’s creating the illusion of a centered crown.
