In the very beginning stages of entertaining the idea of a new M2. Currently drive a 2022 Camaro SS.

I’m in a fairly uncommon circumstance where my mileage is less than 7k per year, so I’m more comfortable buying more car than if I were doing 15k+ miles a year. Are there any good resources to estimate depreciation cost on the new gen M2? My knowledge of BMW is somewhat baseline, and the bulk of the information I know is “V10s are depreciation nightmares and spun crank bearings aren’t fun”.

Linking resources would be great, or just an idea of where I can do my own research for this. I understand this question isn’t easy to answer but trying to get a gauge on feasibility!

Depends on the timeframe. Get a lease deal quote for your car. BMW will give the estimate of what they would buy it back for in 3 years. In my experience, Add 4 thousand or so for private party 2 ish for trade in value.

While I understand the comment - the reasoning is flawed. Why wouldn’t someone be concerned on how much a $70k object depreciates?

You know nothing about my savings, income or a single aspect of my financial picture…which is why your comment puzzles me.

Talk about jumping to conclusions… aye you got a lot of base models listed below your name what can’t afford an m car. Move on
