Is it in effective? Even if you’re giving the ball straight back to the other team, at last it’s a long way from your goal. I don’t think it’s ineffective, just not fashionable anymore.
Yesterday Allison couldn’t wait to give City the ball on the edge of his box. You see goals scored all the time due to teams inability to play out from the back, and refusal to play long. I don’t think it improves the spectacle at all.
