So I originally bought a launch LCD deck but sold it after a few weeks. It was “good” but felt superfluous to my setup. Performance was meh and remote play was laggy and unresponsive.
Based on the great review of the new model, I ordered a 512GB OLED. Well, holy shit, not only is local performance a little better but Remote Play is phenomenal.
The input lag is completely gone and the quality is awesome! I’ve been playing FO76 and Control at max settings, the latter with Ray Tracing both as streamed from my rig. I can’t even tell the difference. The screen is so beautiful and I’m running these at a full consistent 90 FPS. The battery life is 8+ hours when streaming as opposed to local play.
Control is even an Epic game I was able to get working by adding it as a non-Steam game.
Unless I am somewhere crap internet or on a flight or something, I actually seem myself doing mostly Remote Play going forward with this unit. It’s really that good.
I am running into an issue where the colors look completely over saturated and high contrast when using remote plan on the oled deck. I can’t find anything about this on the forums and I’ve tried a variety of settings as well as disabling HDR on my pc. Is anyone else having this issue? The latency is fantastic, I hope I can resolve this color issue.
