I have a 2014 toyota Corolla at 118k miles. I spoke to a Toyota mechanic today and he said Toyota doesn’t have any guidelines on transmission fluid flush. Said I don’t need to mess with it. Is that true?
For my 4runner, transmission fluid change(not flush) is suggested every 30k miles if you tow a lot or drive dusty roads. There’s no recommendations for it for normal driving. I just reached 90k miles so I did a drain and fill just a couple weeks ago. Seems to drive smoother now.
Never done it on any of my Toyota vehicles. (2012 Camry, 2014 Avalon, 2013 RX350, 2015 Corolla…) Never had an issue. I just follow the maintenance schedule. I think it’s a waste of money people like the car care nut scare people into doing and then it becomes gospel. but if you enjoy throwing money away, someone will happily take it.
