Am I really the only one who still can’t get over the new design of BMWs? They are trying to make everything so ‘futuristic,’ and it’s not working for me. The new grills and some of the weird shapes just don’t appeal to me. I liked BMWs from 2014 to 2020 the most. Hope they will get the old design back.

yup not alone. they are just trying to cater to a different demographic now. people did criticize new models in the past. but it was never this bad. especially when nearly every reviewer has to say “well at least you don’t have to look at when you drive it”. sorry, but it doesn’t matter how great it drives … its ugly. i dont want to be seen in it.

They cater to people with money to spend. They are a company that relies on consumers. Enthusiasts could dictate whatever they want to bmw; but they can’t cause they don’t have any money.

give it a few years. watch how well these cars stand their ground in years to come, especially with the competition around them. BMW’s have always been timeless, they know exactly what they’re doing.

I’ve met a lot of people that don’t like the more recent designs at all. I drive an E46 because I genuinely think that was the era where BMWs looked the best.

I didn’t like the older BMW designs compared to the newer ones, but now, when I look back at the golden E46 after seeing the new 7, I want to cry.

Remember when we all thought the X7’s grill was massive and hideous when it came out? I now like the X7, but I strongly doubt the new M3/M4 grills will ever grow on me. They’re just too big.

Then why do they sell 2.4m cars a year? They’re a for profit company; they make cars for people that buy them brand new. It seems people line up to do so (me included).

The sales reflect on selling more and more SUVs. The sedans year to year are way down and the ugly designs have disproportionately been with the sedans.

That’s about marketing, growth and other aspects not just about how the cars look
