Hello! I own a 2016 Honda CRV AWD.

I started the car today and all was fine until I put the car in D and there was a loud pop noise. I was worried and put the car in park and as I eased my foot off the brake I noticed it was rolling forward, and so the parking brake is the only thing keeping it stationary. After some tests, the car won’t move in D or R and makes a whining (?) noise. The car rolls forward in every gear. Brakes seem to be fine. I’m getting it towed as soon as I can, but any idea on what the issue is and how serious/expensive? Thanks in advance

I suspect a front cv failed. If not, it could be shift linkage. Worst case is internal transmission failure
