My cousin has bought the new Steam Deck and today he offered to sell me his old one (from 2023) at half price. Now i can think of situations where i could use it, but is the Steam Deck really worth it in the long run?

It depends on how you game, but it’s been the single best gaming quality of life improvement for me. I have a family so it’s rare that I can sit for a long session in front of the TV, but with the deck I can game while my daughter watches a movie and still be there with her. It was also great today while I waited for an hour at the dealership where my car was getting an oil change. It’s also borderline essential if you have a backlog of old steam games you’ve been wanting to play but haven’t found the time. If any of that sounds like you I’d jump one one at half price.
That’s the thing, that I can play it while on the go, I commute with train pretty much every day and from january i will be clocking in at 6 AM, so It may be a good way to play a few games here and there.
