Was looking to get Hogwarts Legacy while it’s on sale as a Christmas gift for a SteamDeck user, but I’ve heard some so-so things about stability from around launch. I know it’s deck-verified, but how have people’s experiences with it been? Is it able to run stably at 30 fps and have there been any improvements since some of the launch-day stuff I’ve been reading?

Used to run like crap. Apparently runs a bit better now. I ran medium/ low settings with lighting effects on high as it made the spells pop. Heard that performance has improved somewhat and you can achieve 30 fps locked or close to it anyway. Game is a gorgeous postcard.

If it doesn’t run as well as you would like, just use performance for potato pc mod, even at “highest”(ultra is now high) settings, it runs better than vanilla even at similar settings

If you need a link, just tell me

Can’t vouch for performance on lcd model, but have been playing it for a couple days on OLED one and it runs great. Have gotten the infrequent stutter but for the most part it’s been smooth. I’ve got fps uncapped and have been averaging 40-60 fps. Running on medium

My wife has it ok deck. The default settings are trash. Enable FSR 2 and stick it on low. It doesn’t look great but it runs just fine. You can even run it on medium and get mostly 30 with some 25 dips in certain locations. I can’t stand any stutter myself but my wife thinks it’s fine
