Went on business travel to CA this month and decided to try driving a Tesla to see what it was like. Big mistake… coming home to my civic is painful. Coworkers told me a lot of my gripes like lack of buttons wear off after a month or so. I was already all in on electric for when my car eventually died but god, idk how long I will be able to stay ICE. Anyone else have similar experiences on test drives?
I’ve had the Model Y for two months. I got used to the lack of buttons immediately. The only semi annoying thing is not being able to open the glove box easier.
I got used to the speedo on the center screen instantly. (People SERIOUSLY overexaggerate this)
Lack of buttons took me probably a week while I figured out where everything was.
But 8 months later and I was still reaching into my pocket for car keys that don’t exist. I had so much physical memory of that motion it took me eons to stop.
Yeah, it’s the same distance to move your eye down versus off to the side. I like not having stuff glaring in my face now at night, it’s less fatiguing.
Set your steering wheel button shortcut to open the glove box.
