Went on business travel to CA this month and decided to try driving a Tesla to see what it was like. Big mistake… coming home to my civic is painful. Coworkers told me a lot of my gripes like lack of buttons wear off after a month or so. I was already all in on electric for when my car eventually died but god, idk how long I will be able to stay ICE. Anyone else have similar experiences on test drives?

My wife rented a flatulent car and then walked away, leaving it running out of habit.

That whole business of starting and stopping the “engine” that stinks and rattles and farts seems so barbaric!

I think a lot of folks don’t realize just how violent the stuff that happens in an ICE is. It’s a triumph of engineering that Toyota can make a few thousand explosions a minute happen under the hood for years without anything going that wrong.

Still, going to be happy when I can get rid of my gas car.

In fairness, internal combustion engines were optimized long before Toyota came along and started building them. Toyota is excellent at manufacturing, but they are not innovators.
