Cold night out tonight and the ignition button on the 2015 Honda civic is now making a squealing sound when going on and off. I need to call my mechanic next week but want an idea of what it could be/how urgent. Basically should I not be letting anyone drive this car because I’ve never heard of a sound like that coming from pressing the ignition button and what I’m seeing online is people are saying to avoid turning the key too hard which doesn’t apply here.
