Honestly, what the fuck is going on with Ten Hag and United players? Within a season and a half, he has fallen out with Ronaldo, De Gea, Sancho, and Varane, there are even rumors about Casemiro problems. You could say that Ronaldo has a big ego and Sancho is a spoiled brat, but the other two have been model professionals for their entire career up to this point.
We know for a fact that a good manager must be authoritative, but I feel this is going too far. Honestly, this might be the best argument against ETH, not the results. His ego looks gigantic which is necessary to be successful at this level, but you need to control yourself enough to keep the players on your side.
Don’t worry about it.
Thank you very much to Casemiro but he may leave, specially if we can get some money out of him.
Sancho, can’t handle training? Being a bitch? No place for him here. let him leave and also we could get some money out of him.
De Gea, made plenty of mistakes, didn’t want to lower his wages. Honestly, did not care weather he had chosen to stay or not.
Varane, great player and also many thanks but he Gets injured often and he is already in his 30’s. Selling him now would he a smart move. It would also be very smart to stop buying Real Madrid’s used up players for a high fee. (F*ck that club)
You have to be ruthless when making decisions in such a big club. ETH is the boss and you also must learn that.
Managers drop players at every club but it’s only at United where if a player is dropped, the narrative is painted as a fallout with the manager. Isn’t Grealish on the bench at City currently despite his role and status in the team last year? How’s that being reported? Standards eh? No one at any club has a divine right to play esp if you aren’t fit enough to be relied upon, or in form. Simple as. Give it a rest.
I saw a clip from Zlatan and it makes sense. He believes the reason why Ten Hag is struggling is he’s came from Ajax where he was dealing with young players, prospects and made them into stars.
Now he’s at United it’s a different mentally and he’s dealing with players with big egos, whether the big ego are warranted is a different matter.
That this is the first time Ten Hag has had to deal with this in his career, and his approach might be rubbing players up the wrong way.
He has a huge ego. That’s obvious from so many examples.
He’ll be OK if he keeps buying his mates from Holland.
It’s pretty clear to anyone with eyes that the dressing room harmony at manc reds is terrible.
When Bruno Fernandes is the most professional player warranting the captain’s armband it doesn’t bode well for the rest of the team. Baldy asserting his authority just means everyone’s rubbing each other the wrong way.
Why as a “top” level footballer would you want to work in a miserable authoritarian environment? New players aren’t performing because they aren’t enjoying their time and older players have one eye on a move elsewhere.
Nah. We know the Ronaldo and Sancho situations. Not ETH fault
Did he fall out with De Gea? Didn’t he just leave on a free. Haven’t heard about Casemiro. Varane isn’t playing and is often injured, it’s just one player that is mad and he isn’t even starting. 🤷♂️
Even so United has a terrible culture of player power. So I would hesitate to suggest ETH should be sacked for this. The negative culture would just grow even stronger
The truth might be in the middle: ETH is a bit of a dick to deal with, these players can be some spoiled brats.
Is this subreddit always this braindead?
I think it comes down to Ten Hag being used to managing young talent at Ajax, where he tried to be an authoritative father-figure. That sort of management is less suitable for a big club where players see themselves as established superstars (whether true or not…).
Not sure he has the man management skills for the step up from Ajax to be honest. Can still prove me wrong, but has to change tack.
I see a lot of Ten Hag fanboys and his discipline. The question being, is that recipe a guarantee of winning?
I mean see the guys at Madrid, especially the brazilians. What they do on the pitch is not reflected off the pitch.
Do you believe Salah, Mane, Henderson are people to keep their heads down when things go wrong and just nod to everything ?
Because he’s insecure and ulikeable.
Because he has aspergers
They are bad players expect maybe a couple, it’s a miracle he qualified to the UCL this season let alone he’s supposed to compete with City
He’s gonna run out of players to kick out w glazer’s purchase power so I wouldn’t worry too much
