Got the SD OLED yesterday. Love it! But the usb c port is partially broken: charging works but it doesn’t power external devices like keyboards or game controllers. An Ethernet adapter is recognized but download speed with my 1 tbit/s internet is insanely slow (only a few kbit/s). All mentioned Peripherie works with my old SD LCD.

Is there a workaround? I don’t want to RMA. 😫

I’ll contact valve at this moment. We’ll see what they say.

You don’t need a dock to plug in devices like controllers or keyboards or ethernet adapters into the Steam Deck. You’d only need that for high-power items which a keyboard is certainly not.

that solved my problem: Entering the BIOS and changing “USB Dual Role Device” from “DRD” to “XHCI”.

Tried everything else and then finally tried this AND IT WORKED! Thanks!!

For anyone else struggling with this, you can enter your bios by powering up your Steamdeck while holding the volume up button. From there it’s pretty easy to find the USB settings. Make sure you save before your exit.

I also entered Beta Participation under System settings…this is in the regular steam app, not the bios.
