Is there a possibility to change the steam deck keyboard so that it is … well … less … useless?

I want a ctrl and an alt key and all 4 arrow keys visible at the main page. But i get emojis and a huge rage space bar. That are rather essential keys at least at the desktop. But at least I can now express my anger with ☹️ (Yeah I’m not that angry.) So is there a way to change that without messing with system files?
