Basically the title. We always hear about how great Porsche, Honda, etc. are, but what are some brands that don’t get enough love?

KIA/Hyundai. Some of the best EV’s that have far higher initial quality than Tesla’s. The Ionic 6 is also very efficient.

Pontiacs, mostly the older models from the 90s and early 2000s. Love the styling and the muscle looks of the firebirds. I remember my father had a 1999 Trans Am he took me to school in.

Mazda. All their products feel and look like a product of passion, regardless if it’s a convertible or a three row crossover. They may not make the best marketing decisions, but they got heart.

    Donkervoort.

A Dutch car company that started in 1978 with Lotus 7 clones but they’ve evolved into a niche car maker.

Two I have to always explain to people that are not car enthusiasts (in North America) that it exists and what it is: Genesis and Alfa Romeo.

Genesis I understand because its relatively new. Most people have no idea it exists and which country it comes from.

Alfa Romeo, almost every non car enthusiast I have talked to has never heard of it. The rare person who has heard of it just knows terrible reliability as the only thing about the brand.

Alfa Romeo. Anytime it gets brought up the peanut gallery drowns it with “Haha Busso go boom” and “C&D murdered their (early production) long term QV!” as if there’s been zero progress since the 90s and last 8 years, respectively.

Mazda, but the lack of recognition is from the general public, not car fans.

Most car fans know how great Mazda is doing, but I feel like the general public doesn’t. Everyone can see the great exterior designs, but other strengths aren’t recognized by most people. As car guys, we read and watch reviews that rave about the interior quality and the driving dynamics of Mazdas. Some of us might even own them. However, I think the general public doesn’t realize how much better a Mazda’s interior is compared to their competitors.

Chrysler. I don’t care how much everyone hates them. My family including my brother in law has owned a caravan, town and country, 6 x ram 1500’s, 2 x patriots, 2 x Cherokees, a Grand Cherokee L, 2 x compasses, and a Sebring. The only problem anyone had was when the 08 ram hit 200k miles and was rusting out, or when the 95 caravan hit 125k it needed a tranny and by the time it shit the bed again it was rusted out at 250k.
