Hello all! I am currently considering buying a 2024 Corolla Hatchback. Does remote start need a subscription a Connected Service plan? If not, do y’all believe that a subscription is worth it, and how much are they? Also, do they vary based upon the different Corolla Hatchback trims?

lol the car knows everything about you. By buying the car you have them permission to collect info on how and where you drive and even to voice recordings if you use the cars microphone in “order to improve understanding”.

If you don’t want them knowing anything about you you better sell it and buy a 2013 or older.

Lol. No where in the process of car buying do you explocitly give Toyota permission to collect your info.

Sure, they may gatekeep the infotainment behind a TOU, but not owning or driving your car.

Dude I had a big red sticker next to the SOS button in my 2023 RAV4 Hybrid stating as much.

You have to opt out at a website and if you don’t live in California they don’t let you turn off everything.

So yes, you in fact DO give them permission to sell your info by buying the car.

Yeah and did you visit the link and read what, why, and when it’s collecting the data?

You act like it constantly records you like some spy agent. If you don’t want it to record your voice, or track your location, don’t use any of those services then. It’s that easy (per privacy notice).

You could. Instead you just disconnect the antenna or disable the communications in the settings.

I’m willing to bet that isn’t 💯 effective. No different than Google selling your info even when you optniut
