I’d say an African country. It seems more and more common that players are playing for their country of origin rather than solely immigrated country. They’ve also performed really well recently.
Next I am maybe a homer but I would say the US. Probably the best general sporting country in the world, we always do extremely well in Olympics and other international competitions the biggest lack is in passion for the sport- which is increasing rapidly stateside. It’s growing faster than any other sport and I think will start to cement itself firmly alongside Basketball and Football as a big 3 sport after the US world cup.
We are probably a 15-20 range national team already and a young team, our youth players all seem to be better than the last and actually play in top European clubs.
I don’t think it’ll be soon but I could see it being possible in 15-20 years
