Not trying to be dumb but can you put something like an AirTag inside the tire? Stuck or mounted of course and accounted for in the balancing. Price of wheels these days may be worth them making something like this. Part of your tpms or something.
Also I have a few airtags, their batterys only last about 6 months at that, you’d need to do that whole thing every few months to replace the batterys as well.

Would probably also need to be installed and balanced, held in place to not pop out, but also replaced intermittently. TPMS batteries last longer.
