“Ederson, Nathan Ake, Sergio Gomez, Rodri, and Erling Haaland were all back in ManCity training today after respective injury/fitness issues.”

Did anyone not see this coming? Seems it’s a regular occurrence where City players will say they are “injured” to miraculously recover in a week after getting to fly back early.

Yeah, probably 50% of players are carrying a knock that would keep them out of a friendly or dead rubber but not keep them out of a meaningful game.

Rob Holding gave a random interview one time and said that it’s extremely rare to not have something. Only time someone is 100% fit is at the start or a season of return from a long layoff. I have paraphrased but you get the idea.

Yeah exactly. Any sport you hear this same sentiment. Baseball especially playing 162 games everyone is dealing with something come playoffs. Now think of us normal people, my knees and back started hurting at 30 yet still have to push through it at work or gym

When you’re running, heading, tackling and working muscles at full intensity for 90 minutes every week, for 10 months straight (barring injury), you’ll inevitably be working with knocks on you.

It’s even worse with the players at the top level, who will regularly play 50 club games a season before going on to play more games for country and having a short summer break before starting the grind in a month
