I was gifted an iPhone 15 Pro, delivered yesterday morning, by yesterday evening it was being sent back (Network couldn’t sort out my contract).

But during this time I got to play with it, I was upgrading for an iPhone 11 (normal, not pro) and was so excited for the huge difference, but I just didn’t feel it?!

Do you feel you’ve had a big difference from your previous upgrade? I took the same photo on my 11 and 15th and unless you zoomed in, you couldn’t really see the difference. The sound quality on the 15pro I could hear every breath when recording and I also felt like white colours were ‘too strong’ on the screen making videos/photos feel fake on the 15 pro compared to read on the 11. Are you noticing any of these? Did I just not get to play long enough?

Upgrading from 7 to 11 felt HUGE and I was expecting that again, especially with this being a Pro model.

I’m going to turn on my own kind here (that’s a joke, I don’t have brand loyalty), and reveal that Android offerings are no longer far off from this.

The only exceptions I can think of are the folding phones, which are actually a pretty cool innovation (albeit somewhat niche still.)

Got a 14 pro from an 11 pro because it was glitching. I do not feel a difference. Also iOS 17 is kinda glitchy.

I went from 7 to 11 pro max, left that on the roof of my car and drove off. Replaced it with 12 pro max. Waited til usbc came to iPhone, and upgraded to 15 pro max. The upgrade between each is astonishing to me every time.

The smallest incremental difference being 11 pro to 12 pro. Just slightly larger cameras and square edges.

When i went from a 4S to a Xs Max i felt everything. But from Xs Max to 14 pro. Nothing but just a phone with a bit better camera and nothing else. Maybe the 120hz screen

Upgraded from I8 to I13-mini, the form factor is roughly the same, miss the 3D Touch, but overall, it feels good
-I used to Miss the square angles of the 4S on the 8, and it feels like a throwback, but not in bad terms.
    - Photos are obviously better, though i think the large angle optic is a bit pixelated.
    - Of course the smoother UX, thanks to a better chip.
    - Face ID is great, even though back then i thought yeah nah fck this shit, but i kind of miss Touch ID too
    - 2 days autonomy on the battery, speaks for itself

I’m surprised you didn’t notice the high refresh rate (ProMotion). That’s probably the biggest thing my 14 Pro offered me over my XR

I went from the 7S to the 11 Pro to the 14 Pro Max. And honestly it’s the same exact phone just a little bigger. I don’t do anything differently now than when I had my 7s.

    They are functionally the same.

I went from an 11 to a 15 pro and honestly the difference isn’t that big in my opinion. My 11 was worn out and needed to be replaced so I’m happy I bought it but it’s not that much different.

I went from 11 to 15 both regular. Other than the Dynamic Island, no noticeable difference for me, oh well still an upgrade

I took the same photo on my 11 and 15th and unless you zoomed in, you couldn’t really see the difference.

This would be a benefit and I would be happy if I believed you. Unfortunately I don’t. Ever since the 12 they’ve ABSURDLY ramped up the post-processing in the photos. There’s no way the 11 looks like the 15 Pro.

Take a photo with the subject against a bright background. I bet the 15 Pro “smart HDR” makes the subject look like a sticker on top of the photo.

I went through a few phones this year. I got into some money after selling my nasa pc, I didn’t care at all about upgrading phones ever since the 6s but it got dated and well. You know… So I got the 7 and loved it but it didn’t no updates anymore, then the 8 and iPhone X. Also got dropped this year. I also got to play around with the 11 from my girlfriend but didn’t really feel the need to get one. So I got the 12 mini and hated the battery life but loved the form factor, still battery life is the deciding one so I ended up returning it to the store and got the 12. Now I really don’t feel the need to keep going but next month I’ll get the 13 pro max and stop there.

To start with, each gen had its own perks but I have to say that I didn’t feel anything better from the 6s to 8. They all look the same.

The X was a game changer. I loved the OLED display and well it was a lot faster than the 6s I had in the beginning of the year. There were some real improvements in that phone but for today standards it too was dated. The camera was the biggest improvement along with the processor . The battery wasn’t really good but the phone it self was a lot better.

The iPhone 11 I didn’t really get because of the LCD screen. Nice phone though, I know you can get oled panell for the 11 on Ali.

The 12 mini, what a mess of a phone… jeezus, it overheats, battery is crappier than the 6s even though it bigger but cameras are nice.

The 12, now that’s a New phone! The battery lasts all day, the A14 is blazing fast and can play any game out there maxed out at 60 or near 60fps. The cameras are the same as the mini so, nice cameras. I love the iPhone 5ish design. Bezels are very thin. The notch doesn’t really bother me.

Conclusion, from 6s to 8? Nothing, maybe when the 7 and 8 launched back then, they probably were a lot faster and reliable but now, they are the same phone. The X came with a big bump in speed and cameras, the new design. Great and solid phone. Jumping straight From X to the 12- YES a massive difference and a huge improvement! I’ll check the 13 pro out and stop there until the 17 or 18 is out if I don’t wait till the 20.
