I turn 18 in a month and have a budget of around 15k and i need something a little speedier and that will last. I’ve recently been looking at 2010-2011 330ds, most of the cars i’ve been looking at are around 100k miles with 15-20 repair reports, would this be safe?

Don’t waste your money on an old high maintenance car. Invest them instead or save up for your own apartment/house if you still live at your parents place

a majority of it is coming from my mom for my 18th birthday and the rest would be the money from selling my current car

I would still give the same advice. Even if you happened to find the money in a gold pot at the end of a rainbow. Wasting your money on such an old thing just to get a little bit of street credit at such a young age is just not worth it. I have been there myself and luckily I didn’t choose the car. But it’s your life of course and your choice. But just know if you choose the old car then there will be some expensive repairs down the road.
