Anyone having this problem? I’ve always preferred to install the launcher instead of using Heroic/Lutris so that my cloud saves function properly.

I have no issues installing the launcher, and adding it to steam. On top of that, I can open it in desktop mode and download games to play. But when I try to run it in game mode the epic games launcher window shows up but it’s completely blank. I can also tell that if I move my cursor around I can select things, but there’s no way to see what I’m selecting.

I’ve tried Proton Experimental and GE 25 but no change.

I found something that seems to work. In the 3rd party launcher in Steam used for the Epic game launcher, fo to Properties->Shortcut->Target, and change the text to:

“{The path to the epic game launcher}/EpicGamesLauncher.exe” -opengl

Havent tested it a ton, but was able to see everything given a quick glance.

      That works for me!!

Does this have any negative effect on games? Or is it just the launcher that will operate in OpenGL and the games will run whatever default they are set up with?

You can just use the launch parameter instead of messing with the full path. Much easier this way.

I added the text and it resolved the issue with the blank epic screen but while playing final fantasy VII remake the game crashed on me. I removed the text and was able to launch it with the blank screen and game hasn’t crashed yet.
